Good attendance is necessary for all children, research shows that children who attend school regularly and punctually perform better overall and in their later lives. Therefore, the Government expects the level of school attendance for all primary aged pupils to be no lower than 97%
There have been a lot of complaints recently regarding parking around school before and after school. Please be considerate when parking, as some parents with pushchairs have not been able to get past due to parking on corners of the streets and residents have been blocked in.
We have several children in school with severe nut allergies, which require an Epi Pen. Please do not send your child into school with any nuts or nut products e.g Nutella spread for snack or lunch, as this could be life threatening to these children.

Making a Difference

Making a difference with Morrisons ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒป A group of Gorse Hall children were invited to Morrisons Dukinfield to launch the “Make Good Things Happen” support campaign in the local community. It was lovely to meet Alison and Becky who made us feel very welcome. The Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Janet Cooper, said that she had enjoyed listening to our singing โ€˜I am the Earthโ€™ and our poetry reading about Caring for our World. Well done to the children – we are very proud of you all!

Intergenerational Video

Jodie from Yellow Jigsaw Communications visited our Stitch in Time Workshop to film for Tameside’s intergenerational make a difference video. The children really enjoyed this unique experience and we are looking forward to seeing the final production. ๐ŸŽฌโœ‚๏ธ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿงต

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day in 4OH- the children had a very mature discussion about online safety. Key areas that came up were online bullying, how to solve arguments when gaming, the impact of our online footprint, hackers/ insecure passwords, keeping personal details private, stranger danger, the impact of screen time and the importance of adult supervision. We created a gaming guide offering advice to others and made online safety fortune tellers ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒˆ

Stranger Danger

Children in Reception have been learning all about stranger danger! We have talked about this in Little Red Riding Hood-how the wolf is a stranger. The children have loved making wanted posters for this cheeky wolf and putting them up around school! He’s been spotted around school looking very mischievous. Keep your eyes out! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿบ
